Stonewall Jackson Area Council
Camp Shenandoah Conservation Plan
The Council leadership seeks to manage the 458 acres at Camp Shenandoah to provide a safe and healthy outdoor educational venue for Scouts, leaders, and the community in a matter that supports the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. We seek to demonstrate conservation at its finest and provide examples of sound management of forest, watershed, and wildlife.
The Council Conservation Committee, made up of resource professionals and members-at-large, will give oversight to the development and implementation of various plans that support each planned objective for: Forest Management, Wallenborn Conservation Reserve, Cabin Run and Hope Lake, Soil erosion control measures for campsites, trails, and roads, and supporting the Nature/Conservation and Timber Mountain Staff during summer operations.
