It is hard to believe that 4 years have already passed, and we are preparing for the

5th Annual Apple Harvest 5K Trail Run.  It has been an incredible journey – and is the result of a lot of dedicated volunteers.  We start planning for the next race the Sunday after the race.  We have tried to make changes every year- to make the event more exciting, fun, and family friendly.  Many of our improvements have come from suggestions from our runners.  So, if you have a good idea- please share it!!

We are especially excited this year about our reduces prices for youth runners 14 and under as well as additional family adult runners.  We hope this will allow more families to be able to afford our event. One of our foundational goals is to promote youth and family fitness in our community.

Thanks to all of our sponsors! Their financial support is essential to our success.  The profit from our race goes to provide scholarships for youth in need so they can attend Summer Camp at Camp Shenandoah. We have a New Platinum sponsor this year- Pivot Physical Therapy- located in Fluvanna County- just outside the Slice Gate of Lake Monticello.  Please support our sponsors if you have the opportunity.

We are pleased to have the support from Fluvanna County – and access to Pleasant Grove Park.  This is the most amazing facility!  With over 800 acres, it has something to offer most every outdoor enthusiast.  You can walk, run, bike, or horse ride over 21 miles of multi-use trails.  You can take a stroll through a multitude of natural habitat areas- from grassy fields to wooded forests; a pollinator and community garden, multiple streams, and the Rivanna River.  There is also a dedicated dog park.

So whether you are a first time runner, or this is your 5th race- we hope you will have a great time and experience.   See you there!!

Sincerely,

Randy Seelye
