This site has been constructed in an attempt to answer most of the questions about the Boy Scouts of America program in the Southern District, or to guide you to the sources, which can answer your questions. This site is fairly new and will be enhanced in quality and quantity as time allows. If there is anything you like to contribute, just let us know. We want to make this site helpful to veteran leaders as well as to the newest Tiger Cub parent.
The Southern District is one of four districts in the Stonewall Jackson Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The district presently serves over 650 youths (boys ages 7-21 and girls 14-21) in the counties of Alleghany, Bath and Rockbridge and the cities of Buena Vista, Covington and Lexington. These youths are served through Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews and Explorer Posts. Over 100 adult volunteers in the District make this possible. They are supported by a professional District Executive and by Council-level staff who work at the Council Service Center in Waynesboro.
While this is not an official site of the Boy Scouts of America or of the Stonewall Jackson Area Council, we have every intention to follow their policies in the Scouting spirit. If you have any questions or suggestions about this site, please let us know.
